They are suitable for outboard, I/O and inboard petrol engines. Organisations like Power & Motor-yacht magazine and Mercury Marine use FloScan portable flow meters for performance and production testing.

Diesel
loScan Diesel Fuel Computers will help you to monitor engine performance, determine the most efficient speed to reduce fuel consumption, and extent your cruising range. Series 76TX and 75TX Systems are designed specifically for use on Detroit Diesel Series 53, 71, 92, 149, Caterpillar Series 31/3500 and EMD 12-16 series engines with their very high return flows of hot fuel. Temperature compensated, individually calibrated flow sensors and custom-programmed microprocessors ensure accurate flow measurement. The systems also include a digital tachometer and an electronic engine hour meter.

Series 6500/6600 Diesel Cruisemaster Fuel Computers are available for most diesel engines in the 100-3000HP range. Series 7000 Multifunction Fuel Monitoring System combines a digital LCD Engine Hour Meter, Tachometer, Fuel Flow meter, and Fuel Totalizer in a single 3-3/8" diameter instrument, which fits the panel space of a standard tachometer. Perfect for determining the most efficient engine speed and the exact amount of fuel in your tanks. The instrument also incorporates an Engine Synchroniser Indicator. External toggle switches (not supplied) are needed for Port/Starboard selection, resetting the totalizer, and Engine Hours/Synchroniser selection. Models are available for virtually all Petrol engines and for most diesel engines.

Series 8000 Multifunction Fuel Monitoring Systems provide the same functions as Series 7000 instruments PLUS they supply a fuel Flow Rate output signal for GPS Systems and for FloScan 9000 systems in twin engine boats. Certain GPS units like the Magnavox MX100 and MX200 contain the necessary hardware and software to receive an external fuel flow signal and to combine it with internally generated speed information to display data such as Gallons-per-Nautical-Mile, Nautical Miles per Gallon, Distance to Empty, Time to Empty, etc.
The Fuel Flow output signal from the Series 8000 is available in either of two forms: (1) a pulse signal [p] or (2) a 0-5VDC analogue signal [v]. The 'Y' designator in the part number indicates signal type.
Series 9000 Multifunction Fuel Monitoring Systems provide the same functions as Series 7000 instruments PLUS the important addition of Nautical Miles-per-Gallon over the ground. The speed signal required is calculate the MPG reading is obtained from GPS and Loran systems having a NMEA 0183 serial port output.
The direct display of Nautical Miles-per-Gallon over the ground gives the skipper a powerful new tool to set optimum fuel efficiency under all conditions and to determine precisely how far he can go with his remaining fuel.

Series 90000 Multifunction Fuel Monitoring Systems provide the same functions as Series 70000 instruments PLUS the important addition of Nautical Miles-per-Gallon over the ground. The speed signal required for calculate the I/N.M. reading is obtained from GPS and Loran systems having a NMEA 0183 serial port output.
The direct display of Litres per Nautical Mile over the ground gives the skipper a powerful new tool to set optimum fuel efficiency under all conditions and to determine precisely how far he can go with his remaining fuel.

TwinScan™ Instruments embody a new concept in twin engine analogue instrumentation that sets the ultimate standard for easy readability in the least possible space. Each individual instrument contains port and starboard meters that reference to each other. In a single, quick glance the eye can scan the entire instrument panel for non-matching pointers that signal possible trouble. Potentially dangerous and costly engine problems that might go unnoticed on conventional instrument panels are highlighted on a TwinScan™ panel.
TwinScan™ instruments reduce the panel space required by 50% leaving more room for other electronics. A new patented miniature meter movement design is the first to allow two meters to fit in the industry standard 2" diameter case that significantly reduces overall installation time.
